We believe that God is eternal. He has no beginning or end (Psalm 90:2). He exists as three personalities, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each person possessing the one essence that is God (Mark 1:9-11).
He is the Creator of everything and everyone. As the Creator He has the right to rule and direct everything and everyone in the universe (Genesis 1:1).
Humans are the crown of God’s creation. We are created in His image, meaning that we were made to uniquely reflect to this world some of the characteristics of God. We were also made to manage this world under God’s direction, and to build a good and right society (Genesis 1:26-28).
The first pair of humans, Adam and Eve, rebelled against God’s authority and assignment (Genesis 3). In some way, that rebellious nature has entered each of their ancestors (that’s us). Our hearts are so corrupted that we do not want God’s direction, help, or interference in our lives (Romans 5:12).
The result of our rebelliousness is a severed relationship with God, which eventually leads to separation from Him for all eternity in a place called “hell.” Also, there are consequences of our rejection of Him in this world: hate, racism, moral confusion, dysfunctional families, and sexual perversion etc. These actions are not the root of humanity’s problem. They are the fruits of our problem. The real problem is our rebellion against the Lord God.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior that the Bible promised from the very beginning (Genesis 3:15). He came from heaven, became a real man, lived a perfect life, and surrendered His life to murderous humanity, when He died on a Cross. However, this was all God’s plan, for in Jesus, the Righteous One paid the penalty owed by unjust humanity (1 Peter 3:18). Not only that, He rose from the dead on the third day to verify that what He did really was enough to purchase humanity’s pardon for our rebellion (1 Corinthians 15:3-7).
You are in a state of rebellion with the rest of us. The Bible says that we have all gone astray like sheep and have turned to our own way in life (Isaiah 53:6). Our hearts are set against God’s rule over us (Jeremiah 17:9).
Yet, because Jesus died in your place to pay for your rebellion, you can come to God and be forgiven and accepted as one of His children.
How? You must repent and put your complete confidence in Jesus as your Savior from sin, and as the Lord over your life. The Bible says, “But to all who did receive him [Jesus], who believed in his name [who Jesus says that He is], he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).

A local church is a group of people who have confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, have been baptized to make their faith public, and who are in a covenant with a particular group of Jesus-followers to work together for Jesus’s sake, and to love one another like we have been commanded. A local church is organized in order to carry out this purpose, and is led by one or more pastors/elders. CBC strives to make the Good News of Jesus visible to our world through our lives together.
We are imperfect people, who are in the process of being changed by Jesus and His Word. As Pastor Tim often says on Sundays: “This is the service department; not the showroom.” We have a long way to go to be all that we ought to be.
Our worship gatherings are populated by people who may or may not be a part of our church family. Our doors are open for guests to come and worship with us.
